Sarah Dorkenwald

The designer Sarah Dorkenwald practices in her practical as well as her theoretical work a critical design approach. In exchange with other disciplines she challenges common design methodologies and social conventions. By way of contemporary design positions, she proposes system-changing alternatives with regard to the handling of resources, production and distribution. To this end, she develops new formats, curates exhibitions and writes for trade magazines and publications. She is a professor at the University of Communication and Design in Ulm. From 2012 to 2016, she was responsible for program development at bayern design. In 2018, she founded UnDesignUnit together with Karianne Fogelberg and Tanja Seiner.
