In his site-specific, expansive objects, Stefan Eberstadt unites the aspects of art, function and architecture in an innovative and fascinating way.
Intellectually, Stefan Eberstadt's work usually begins at the site of its intended purpose and condenses its specific situation. Once realized, his expansive objects combine the formal reduction of modernity with an invitation to explore, understand and appropriate. With his rucksack houses and their fold-out furniture, he anticipated the tinyhouses movement in 2004. Spatial interventions like at the Marta Herford Museum (Frank Gehry) or the Kunstmuseum Bonn combine function, art and architecture in a particularly impressive way and assign the leading role to the visitors as users.
